What the forum does

The forum helps us to:

• understand the views and experiences of parents and carers;
• learn more about the needs of our school communities;
• share information, knowledge and ideas;
• strengthen links between schools, families and the wider community;
• consider feedback from trustees, governors, staff, parents and carers;
• consult on proposed changes, school policies and local issues.

Membership

The forum includes:

• the Chair of Trustees;
• the Trust Lead and Accounting Officer;
• up to three parent or carer representatives from each Venn Academy Trust school.

If more than three parents or carers volunteer from one school, a parent and carer vote will be held to select representatives.

Our shared commitment

Forum members agree to:

• listen respectfully to a range of views and opinions;
• treat all members with courtesy and consideration;
• maintain confidentiality when matters are discussed;
• avoid naming or discussing individual pupils, families or members of the school community;
• focus on the best interests of all children and families;
• direct individual concerns through the usual school channels.

The forum is not intended to discuss individual circumstances. Any personal concerns should be raised directly with the school office.

Meetings

Meetings are held once each term and usually last around one hour.

They take place remotely using Microsoft Teams. If needed, your school can provide a device and suitable space for you to join the meeting.
